Shelbs

I love this sweet picture of my little girl when she was about 5 months old.  For this layout I used the June Scraptastic  - Best Day of My Life kit.  The page I showed you on Wednesday was made using the same kit and it is amazing how different they look.  This one is so much brighter and more colorful.  Really like the versatility of this kit.

I also added inking to the background (totally inspired by Kitty Scrapper).

Here are a few close-ups of the embellishment clusters (all embellishments came from the kit).

I really like the camera flair and the cork accents.

Besides the roller inking of the triangles, I also added some stamping "Delightful Little Thing".  I watercolored  (it was white) the die-cut flag/bow with watercolors I got from Michaels.

Hope you enjoyed.  Thanks for stopping by.

Love You

Hello Everyone.  Today I have a mixed media layout to share.  I really love honeycomb patterns and anything nature so I was excited about this Scraptastic kit (it had wood grain, butterflies, bird, etc).  The picture is of my daughter from about 5 years ago when we were coming home from a trip to California to visit friends.  She was such a good baby on the plane and mostly slept.  Let me just say I got lucky!!

All of the items to make the page came in the June (?) Scraptastic Kit.  This kit came with so many things.  There was a crazy number of die-cuts (both vellum and acetate) - I believe all from Heidi Swapp and such fun embellishments.

Here are some close-ups.

Thanks for stopping by and happy scrappin'

Laugh - My First Mixed Media Layout

Happy Saturday everyone.  I hope you are enjoying the last few days before the kiddos go back to school.  Mine is already going back on the 11th of August...WHAT?!?!...totally crazy.  I remember when I was little we didn't start until after Labor Day.  It is still summer.  How could school be starting already?  Sniff, Sniff.

Anyway, on to the layout.  This is my first mixed media layout.  I just got back from Michaels and couldn't wait to try my new stuff out.  I used watercolor paper as my base and Moulding Paste and a stencil to create the raised areas of the background. Then, once dry, I used my new watercolors.

On top of all that, I used some of the scraps that I had left over from the Studio Calico - 2013 Kit.

The butterfly in the top left corner was cut using my Silhouette.  I believe I got this shape directly from the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut it out using watercolor paper and painted it to match my background.

Here are a few close-ups of the other embellishment clusters.  Supplies are listed below.

Supplies:
  • Studio Calico - September 2013 kit
  • Watercolor Paper from Michaels
  • Watercolors - Artist Loft
  • Chip Board Emblishments: My Minds Eye: Collectable
  • Silhouette Cut files
  • Studio Calico vellum
  • Wood Veneer - Stash and Scraptastic
  • Homemade enamel dots
  • Stencil - Heidi SwappModeling Paste - Liquitex
  • Other: Studio Calico tidbits, yellow enamel dots from Scraptastic and doodle bug, Wink Of Stella brush, and Studio Calico printables.
Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Scrappin'.

Cookies for Santa

These pictures are from a few years ago.  We got home from being with family and just got out of the shower.  My kiddo was so tired.  The look on her face was not a happy one (sorry you can't see due to the blurring), but I couldn't go without a picture of her holding the cookies for Santa.

This is a pretty simple layout.  The paper is from a Christmas paper pad made by Me and My Big Ideas.  It had most of the embellishing that I needed. with Santa in the sky and the town below so I didn't need to add a whole lot to this layout.

What little I did add came from my stash.  So nice to use some of it up. Here are a few pictures of the close up embellishment clusters.  Supplies are listed below.

Paper: Me and My Big Ideas, Bo Bunny - 2013 Christmas Collection, and Simple Stories - 2013 Christmas Collection.
SEI enamel-like dots
Fancy Pants - Words and stickers
Doily and Twine

Hey Daddy... and Love the Moments

Today I have two more layouts for the Birthday Challenges over at Scraptastic.  Over this past weekend, they had a 4th Birthday celebration.

The first layout is for Challenge #2: Top 100.  I used the Scraptastic: September 2013 kit to put this one together.

For the background, I used my Glitz Design roller stamp with the triangles, splattered with my mists (I believe both Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Black and Sweet Cherry).  I also tried a technique that I have seen Kitty Scrapper do on her layouts (you can check her out on YouTube here).  She uses her huge roller stamp with all of the letters to stamp phrases in the background.  I stamped "Hey Daddy" over and over.  I kind of like how it turned out.

It has quite a bit of layers.  I was trying to use up a lot of my scraps from the kit so I a) didn't feel like I needed to keep them all and b) so I didn't feel guilty throwing them away.  I added some sequins from Theresa Collins that also came in the kit.  Hope it is not too much.

This one is for Challenge #9: Design Shelf.  For this one I also used the September 2013 kit.

I really like how this page turned out.  If I had a do-over I think I would have probably added more layers to just below the top blue butterfly or just brought my layers in tighter.  I think there is a bit too much white space.

Here are a few close-ups of the clusters.

Thanks again for stopping by.  Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

All You Need is Love

I have another layout to share with you today.  Scraptastic is having a birthday celebration this weekend.  They are celebrating 4 years.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...did I mention, LOVE their kits.  They come with so many things and just love how all of the elements work so well together.  I can't get enough of them.  Anyway, about the layout.

Challenge #1 was to use a sketch.  The sketch was created by Susan Stringfellow.  Here is a picture of the sketch.

Here is my interpretation of the sketch.

All of the supplies except for the mist (Lindy's Stamp Gang - Opal Sea Oats) and the white card stock (from my stash) came in the kit.

I really love how it turned out.  Nice to have some inspiration from a sketch.  Now it is on to challenge #2.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy Sunday.
