I Am Featured!!!

So excited!!  I am featured on Sarah Hamer Designs blog.  Every week she lets us link up to her blog and this week she featured my Sweet as Honey layout.  Too neat (can you tell I am a bit excited?!?!?!)!
Make sure you check out her blog as well as the others posted today at the Link Up Party.  I am so amazed at all of the inspiration and fun stuff I find on other's blogs.

Well I hope to add more projects that I have been working on soon.  It has been pretty busy around here and the weather just begs us to go outside and do yard work and play.  So not much craftin' has happened in the last week.

Thanks again for stopping by.  Happy Craftin'.

Sweet as Honey

Sometimes it is nice to put a kit together.  Especially when you have a toddler that tries to get your attention about every 5 minutes :).  You just can't do something too in-depth.  Some of my favorite simple kits come from Out on a Limb Scrapbooking.  They have some of the best kit prices around.  For this kit I changed it up a bit to fit my photos and style.
I inked the edges of the mats and accents with Tim Holtz - Black Soot ink.  I pretty much ink up everything these days.  I think it really gives the mats, accents, and such definition.

I was trying to figure out a different way to do my journaling.  I just ordered the Ticket Corner Punch from Stampin' Up! and I thought this was the perfect thing for this page.

Hope you enjoy.  Happy Craftin' and hope you come back next time.

Sneak Peek - Paper Bag Mini

Here is a sneak peek of the paper bag mini album I have been working on.  I have been using the DCWV Green Stack - 4x6 paper stack.  This has to be some of the cutest paper I have used in a bit.  I just love all of the nature elements and the little critters in this collection.
Looking forward to embellishing the front cover with all kinds of critter and nature goodness :)

This is a bit of what the innards look like.  I have some pages with flaps on both sides, some with pockets on both sides (like these two pictures above), and others with a combination.
I have been trying to find the chipboard elements locally (the cheapest I could find on the internet was $10.97ish and they retail for around $6ish).  If you know where I can get these locally let me know.

I am planning on adding more pockets, tags, and other hidden treasures along the way.

Anyway, I will be sharing more from this album soon.  I am also thinking about posting a video when it is complete.  Stay tuned.

Bark In The Park

If you live in the St. Louis area, you are a pet lover (specifically dogs), and you have not been to Bark In The Park, well get your tails to Cricket Field on May 19th.

The hubby, kiddo, Kai, Ozzie, and me will be there.  Will you?

Bark in the Park is a one of a kind event that provides an exciting day of family fun at Forest Park including a dog walk with thousands of other animal lovers, performances by the Purina Incredible Dog Team, kids activities, pet contests and much more.  We always have so much fun.

Best of all- proceeds from the event supports the Humane Society's Animal Cruelty Fund-dedicated to investigating, healing and preventing animal abuse.

I hope you'll consider visiting my Bark in the Park personal page and making a donation to help me make my fundraising goal. Any size gift is greatly appreciated. Visit hsmo.org/bark and search my name on the right-hand side of the page.

Together we can truly make a difference in the lives of homeless animals!

Handmade Mini Album Cover

I made this mini album a few months ago (based on Paper Phenomenon).  Little by little I have finished adding the matting to the base pages and inserts.  It has a long way to go, but the cover is finished.
Here is the cover before embellishments.
Here is the finished cover.  The flat back pearl trim along the binding was from SaCrafters Zibbet store.  I had the pink lace trim in my stash.

The flower was made from organza trim and mulberry flowers that I got from SaCrafters' Zibbet store and I sprayed with Smooch Spray and homemade glimmer mist.  I bought the feathers from JoAnn's and the chipboard fluorish was covered with paper from the Mademoiselle Stack from DCWV.

Here is a close up of one of the ladies that I cut from the paper collection.  I backed her on thin chipboard to add stability.  I added a few clipped feathers for detail.  She is glued on top of a window frame that I made.  You can see a full picture here.
Hope you enjoy.  Have a wonderful day.  Happy crafting.

Homemade Clip It Up

My fabulous hubby helped me make this floor model clip it up.  It is AWESOME.  Now I can see all of my stickers and embellishments.  I watched a ton of videos on YouTube and pictures on blogs before I got an idea of what I wanted to do.    Here is what we came up with.

I found 4 UGLY lamp shades from the thrift store.  I think I paid about $5-$6 for all of them.  I ripped the fabric off and cleaned them up with a little sand paper.  The base is made from a wooden circle and the middle of the tube (threaded rod) was from Home Deport.  We bought the white paint, nuts, washers, and grey PVC pipe from Handyman True-Value Hardware.

The one thing I would have changed was finding more shades with less angle in the wire from the center point to the ring.  The embellishments tend to hang up a bit on the bottom ring because of that.
Here it is with my stickers, embellishments, and such.  It is exactly what I was looking for.  I have to thank my husband for helping strategize and assemble.  Without him, I would still probably have a pile of supplies.
