Simply Said...Thank You

I love the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge so I decided to use the beaver this time for a thank you card I made the other day.  A friend of mine has given me tons of clothes (I mean bags and bags) for my daughter (Her daughter is almost a year ish older than my kiddo).  I am so appreciative and the clothes are so cute that I thought this little beaver would be the perfect card.

The cardstock I used is just a variety of scraps from my stash.  That is one of my favorite things about using my Ccricut, I can use up all those scraps that I just can't seem to part with.  I also was able to use the Cricut Craftroom.  That is a pretty neat program.  I had a bit of issues figuring things out, but I think the more I play, the easier it will be.  Just need to figure things out.

The log is sprayed with the Smooch spray from Stampin' Up! and the cardstock is inked around the edges to give some dimension with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.

The twine is from Doodle Bug and the flower is  felt flower from, I believe, Making Memories.

The sentiment is stamped with SU!'s Simple Said stamp set (retired) and again the Vintage Photo ink.

I have used a SU! white gel pen for the eyes and a bit of glossy accents on the toofers.

Small Haul From SaCrafters

As you probably can tell by now I love SaCrafters blog and products. Here are a few items that I just got in the mail from her store.

1-3/4 inches paper flowers mix colors-20 Flowers-set1 - These are gorgeous!!! The look even better in person. I can't wait to start using these on my projects.
Flat back pearls trims in ivory - I have the perfect project for these. I am going to use them on the mini album that I am making along with the shutters or window (or maybe I will just go crazy and use both) that I made a few weeks back. I thought I might be able to also use alcohol inks on this to match projects.
I couldn't find this in her store (probably just missed it), but I think it is pale pink pompom trim. I used some bright pink trim from Stampin' Up! on the DHs Valentines present so I am looking forwards to using this new color.
Ivory flower shape half pearls 12MM, 50 pieces - these make great flower centers (handmade or to bling up the store bought ones) or to just use and embellishments on their own. I got the white color so I can use alcohol inks to color them to match any project.

I highly recommend buying from her Zibbet store. She has great prices, SUPER FAST shipping, and great customer service.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my haul and please check out SaCrafters blog and store.

I have a challenge for you...

...are you with me or not?

Well, my upline just threw down the gauntlet. The one with the most bookings in February and March will get a $50 Visa card.   We are in the middle of a booking blitz...run for your life...  Actually, the only place I would like you to run is your email and book a lia sophia party with me today.
That being said, I would like to share the love.  For helping me reach my goal of 5 parties in February/March your participation will earn you many goodies.  Not only will you get all of the wonderful hostess benefits lia sophia has to offer (free jewelry, 1/2 price jewelry, huge discounts, etc), but I am also giving away jewelry for FREE.  Yep, you heard me right, FREE.

For this, the early bird gets the worm.  The first two people who book with me get 2 items from the catalog $100 or less) for FREE.  The next three who book with me get 2 items from the catalog ($100 or less) for $15, and any others who book get 1 item from the catalog ($100 or less) for $15.

Valentine's Gift for the DH

The kiddo and I worked on this project for Papi for Valentine's Day.  The overall idea I got from the January/February edition of Scrapbook Etc magazine and changed it up to fit my style.  She helped me paint the canvas and cut the cardstock.  Pretty much the rest of the time she just played with the scrap paper in the trimmer and the scissors (by the way, what is up with kids always wanting to play with the dangerous stuff???).

First, I painted the canvas I got from Michaels with various colors/brands of acrylic paints.  Then I added gold embossing powder around the edges of the canvas.
Next, I cut clouds from some canvas I bought probably over 10 years ago (see, I knew I would use it some day).  I painted them with gesso and glued them to the canvas with hot glue.  For the base where the pictures were affixed, I distressed the edges with my scissors and added more gold embossing powder.

The accordion picture mat with pictures was hot glued down next.  I trimmed out the corners of the pictures with mulberry (I think that is the material they are made of) flowers and a shabby flower from trim that I got from SaCrafters Zibet store.  She has some great stuff - I actually have a few pictures (small haul) of some other items that came in the mail today that I will post later.  Both the mulberry flowers and the shabby fabric flowers were white.  I sprayed them with various colors of homemade glimmer mist and some Stampin' Up! smooch spritz (If you are interested, let me know and I can order some for you).  I also have a few ribbon flowers sitting around from who knows when, but sometime when I still lived with my parents :).

Lastly, I added discontinued pink pom pom trim from Stampin' Up! around the photo with more hot glue.  I also added a flower on top of a button at the bottom to string the Doodlebug bakers twine from it to the flower at the top to keep the accordion photos in place.

Hope you enjoy.

Valentine's Day Gifts for Pre-School

These turned out a bit smaller than I had anticipated.  I tried using the Cricut Craftroom with my Imagine to get more larger images on one mat, but the program was not working with Imagine.  I wanted to troubleshoot, but no time.  I had already been on the phone with Cricut Customer Support twice in two days trying to get my Imagine to update...ug!  At least that has been fixed.  My Imagine is up to date and happy.  Maybe another day for the Craftroom.

Anyway, I think these turned out really cute.  I wanted to do something pretty simple since they were going to a group of Pre-schoolers.

I made the elephant with the Create A Critter cartridge.  I sprayed it with homemade pink glimmer mist to give it a little more texture.

Then my DH and I added tags onto the trunk to add the kiddos name.  Then I stuck the elephant onto a heart sucker as a treat.

My lia sophia Business

Just wanted to share my lia sophia website with you guys.

I have been a lia sophia Advisor for almost 3 years now...WOW, has it really been that long???  Well anyway, I love lia sophia and everything it has to offer.  I have met so many wonderful women (and a few men - they are really fun to watch at conference :) ) though this company.  Not only do I get a great discount on the jewelry, I get to meet new people every time I go to a new hostess' house.

What is better that spending an evening gabbing with the girls, trying on jewelry, eating, and making money at the same time.

If you guys are ever interested in learning about all the great hostess benefits or the opportunity, post a comment or shoot me an email.  I will also be posting special, videos, etc about the jewelry here from time to time.

Hope you enjoy!

Card for Kate

This is a card that I made for my friend Kate.  Her sister had the idea to send her a slurry of cards for Valentine's Day.  Kate has been battling cancer for several years and she thought it would be a nice thing for Kate to receive.

Kate is such a strong person.  She have never given up and has the best attitude toward everything.  I  hope I can only be half as strong as her when I deal with adversities in my life.

Here's to Kate!!

If you are interested in sending Kate a Valentine, post a comment and I will forward her address.

Card Ingredients:

Seagulls

I thought this picture of the seagulls in Grafton, IL turned out pretty neat.  There was a lady there feeding them and they were going crazy.
