Winner Wednesday Challenge - Gina Beth's YouTube Channel

This weekend I put together a layout for YouTube challenge on Gina Beth's Winner Wednesday.  Definitely check out her YouTube channel.  She has some great process videos and also other fun videos in between.  The challenge was to use something that said "Best Day Ever" since it seems like lately there are so many embellishments, papers, etc. that say "Best Day Every".  And come on...every event can't be the best ever right?

I was really excited to do a layout for the challenge because I thought I could use some of those embellishments that I had in my stash that said "Best Day Ever" since like Gina, I find it hard to use that statement unless it was a really big event (Yeah, I had a baby, OMG, I got married, I finally graduated...you know...those types of events).  So when I went to look for embellishments or paper to use, to my surprise, I could find not one single thing.  Really?!?  When you need something you can't find it an knowing my luck the next several Scraptastic kits I get will have "Best Day Every" all over them :).  Well after looking and looking I was able to find a roller date stamp with "Best Day Ever" so I used that on the layout and my title of "Best Day EVER depending on who you ask" hopefully fulfills the requirements of this challenge.

The entire page was made using the Echo Park line called "Life Is Good".  It is a collection from 2011.  The only other item I used was the roller date stamp with "Best Day Ever" and the date.  It is from Stampin' Up!.
In case you were wondering about the title....on this particular day a friend of mine and I decided to take our kiddos to watch a preview of a local circus in town.  They were going to have balloon animals, small performances, and music.  We thought it would be perfect.  Well, when we got there we decided to wait in line for the balloon animals first to make sure we got one.  Little did we know that the balloon artist was making these extravagant balloons (Super Mario, mermaids, aliens, etc).  After much waiting, my friend's kiddo fell asleep while she was holding her (that would have been fine, but she weighs around 35 lbs and 35lbs of dead weight is hard to hold after 10 min) and my daughter didn't seem to mind that she had been waiting in line for what seemed like an eternity.  When we finally got to the end, the balloon artist knew he was running out of time so he only gave the girls a few options.  I was so bummed since my daughter wanted a mermaid.  However I was pleasantly surprised when she was ok with just a butterfly.  Thank goodness.  Well after 1 hour and 45 min waiting in line, the girls we happy as can be and my friend and I were wishing that we had spent a lazy day at home.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great scrappy day!

  1. What a fun challenge! I don't that I have anything in my stash that says "Best Day Ever" either. Now I will have to keep an eye out. You should totally print the story you wrote on your blog to add to your layout! What a fun story!

    1. I ran out of room for the journaling on the front of the page so I put a pocket on the back of the page. I ALWAYS forgot to make room for you journaling.
